Coming soon...Garnier Essentials 2 in 1 Make-Up Remover review.

Vanille Bourbon

Hmmm. Perfumes are a difficult one to review. It's not like I can swatch it for you guys to have something tangible to gauge from it. Never the less I can take you on a literary journey and hopefully your imagination can assemble a sensory picture of how delightful this fragrance is.

To get an idea of what sort of fragrances tickle my nostrils in comparison to your own, here's a list of my favourite perfumes in no particular order:

Christian Dior Hypnotic Poison, Viktor & Rolf FlowerBomb, Tom Ford Black Orchid, Stella By Stella McCarney, Loverdose by Diesel, Kenzo Amour, Calvin Klein Euphoria.

So you get the idea, I like deep, multifaceted, cloying, musky and vanilla scents.

As with all great finds I stumbled across this on a casual stroll during my lunch break. Some of you may have heard Marks and Spencer have recently introduced beauty halls into some of their branches. They have scoured the world high and low to find the best beauty and fragrance products available. It was there I found a range of perfumes by Les Senteurs Gourmandes.

The perfume line heralds from Western France where its founder spent many years developing a line of scents centred around Vanilla. There are twelve different vanilla variants of this collection but the Vanille Bourbon has to be my favourite. The intial spritz leaves a a slighty bitter scent but as it dries down you have top notes of vanilla Bourbon, followed by caramel and red berries at the heart and coconut and white musk are at the base. It's like a freshly baked vanilla cupcake which over time develops cocoa undertones.

The sillage (the trail of scent you leave behind) on this pefume is amazing. People often ask when I walk past whether I'm wearing cocoa butter, I've even had candy floss before. I can still smell the scent on my blazer the next day on a few occasions.

The packaging could have been slightly more flamboyant, I think I expected a little more from a French olfactory connoisseur. The perfume however makes up for this slight downfall.

Overall there is nothing multifaceted about this scent, you pretty much get a  good one dimensional traditional vanilla fragrance. It's a safe scent you can wear on a daily basis without being offensive because what's there to be offended by a Vanilla Cupcake?!

I purchased mine at Marks and Spencer but I know you can get it in the U.S.A at Sephora:

Les Senteurs Gourmandes Vanille Bourbon EDP: £22.50

Neutrogena Visibly Clear - Review

Every girl inevitably has some form of facial care routine in the morning. I know some girls have an entire selection of products which could probably put a department store to shame, I on the other hand have no time nor patience in the morning to be lathering layer upon layer of different concoctions onto the facial region. I'm usually running around screaming like a banshee at the thought of delays on the underground and prospect of turning up late to work (my job involves at lot of clock watching and time keeping, even the thought of a 1 minute delay to the start of the day gives me palpitations)

So say hello to my two little morning friends! I have oily to combination skin and have always struggled with the occasional breakout. As I have mentioned before I tend to steer away from oil inclusive products and the oil-free combination below have been a kind miracle to the skin. Since using these two I have noticed a reduction in oil in my t zone are and break outs clear rapidly and ocur less frequently (I mainly get the odd pimple on my cheeks)

Daily facial routine.

Let's start with the face wash/mask. Getting straight to the point; it's THICK! It's clay-based so it sinks right into the pores and draws out any impurities. There's no conventional foam or bubbles with this bad boy which personally I prefer. I wet my face before applying this and gentle rub into the skin for about a minute and wash off. Simples! On days where my face needs a bit of extra TLC ( i.e. numerous amounts of blemishes which should technically be charged rent for their stay) I use this as a facial mask before going to sleep, it soothes the skins and by the morning any redness and unevenness of the skin texture would have remarkably subsided.

It has a pleasant scent and is smooth to apply on the face. It also easily rinses off. The only downside I find it doesn't rinse off my eye make up well. I tend to have ring of kohl/mascara residue encircling the margins of my lids after use which I have to remove using my make up remover (Review for Garnier Simple essetinal 2 in 1 make-up remover coming soon!)

Top: Neutrogena Visibly Clear 2-in-1 Face Wash/Mask
Botton: Neutrogena Visibly Clear Oil-Free Moisturiser

On to the moisturiser. My main struggle when trying to find a new moisturiser in formulation. I don't want something that is too thick that it takes forever to absorb into my skin nor something that is too light that its doesn't provide lasting moisturisation. Neutrogena have hit the nail on the head with this, is is fast absorbing and acts as a great base for my foundation. Once the cream is applied I find it absorbs to a semi matte finish and doesn't leave that greasy sheen some creams tend to. It's mildly scented and leaves the skin feeling refreshed with a menthol zing! Neutrogena claim it's, "Microclear technology" helps to even skin tone and fade marks. I have found that since using this product my skin tone has evened out but I don't know whether the cream is accountable or if it is due to my religious of Bio-Oil (Again, review coming very soon!)

Overall this duo works synergistically to provide results that I look for in a face wash and cream : Lasting moisturisation, oil-free, blemish-reducing, evens skin tone and texture. It's a hassle free face routine.

I buy mine from Boots who occasionally do a 2 for £5 offer on Neutrogena products. They individually retail at:

Neutrogena Visibly Clear Oil-Free Moisturiser 50ml: £4.60
Neutrogena Visibly Clear 2 in 1 Wash and Mask 150ml: £3.99

The Body Shop: Vitamin C Skin Reviver

After watching Lusciousbeauty17's  April favourites video I was persuaded to buy Body Shop's Vitamin C Skin reviver. Now I have never worn a  primer before and always liked the idea of having something that would heighten the staying power of my foundation. I tend to apply my make-up in morning and have no touch ups during the day, so usually come the end of a long day my face is looking like a Madame Tussauds' reject. Nice! So I thought it was about time I invested in a primer to save the public from daily exposure to my hot mess of a face come the evening.

When I first bought it I was cautious about using it as one of the ingredients was brazil nut oil. As I have oily to combination skin I tend to steer away from oil based products which tend to exacerbate any breakouts. With any primer this also container silicone to create that flawless base, being new to primers I didn't want the silicone to block my pores and break me out. However, the results have been phenomenal!

I use this daily after I moisturise and before I apply foundation now. I cannot stress how much this makes my foundation application flawless. My foundation stays all day with no patchiness or foundation break down and it gives the skin a subtle dewy glow.

The product itself as a gel/lotion hybrid texture with finely milled rose gold coloured light reflecting particles. It has a delicious citrus smell and glides onto the skin smoothly giving a matte finish. It can be worn by itself as well as under make-up. As with any primer it doesn't cover blemishes but it evens out the texture of the skin by minimising the appearance of fine lines and pores.

With the added antioxidant benefits of Brazil nut oil and Vitamin C which are meant to reduce wrinkles, dry skin and acne what is not to love about this multipurpose primer! Go grab one now, they retail at £13.00 for 30ml.... and remember a little goes a long way!

GlitterButton rating: 5/5!

Revlon Lip Butters - Review & Swatches

Oh yes. For months on end I have seen the U.S beauty gurus and bloggers rave on about the Revlon Colorburst Lip Butters and I have been eagerly anticipating the release over here in the U.K ever since. So when they were finally released in the U.K, I kind of, maybe, accidently, perhaps, unknowingly, sort of.....bought half the collection.

They combine the buildable colour of a lipstick with the moisturising properties of a balm. Perfect for anyone who has been weary about taking the plunge and purchasing a full on statement lipstick.

A total of 14 have been released in the U.K and they retail at £7.99. The packaging is reminiscent of the Dior Addict Lipbalms with the translucent covers and the mirror finish bullets in which the product itself is contained.

Being a girl who sways more towards tinted lipbalms I highly recommend these, they are worth the hype and I will definitely be repurchasing.

Price: *****
Longeivity: ****

Colour Range:*****

Cons:
Only a small amount of product in the packaging
Applying too much pressure on application can smush the product

(L-R Lollipop, Cotton Candy, Pink Truffle, Berry Smoothie, Strawberry Shortcake, Raspberry Pie and Sweet Tart)

09 Sweet Tart:
A medium to full coverage cool toned pink lip butter. My favourite everyday lip butter for a flush of youthfulness on my lips against my NC45 skin tone.

075 Lollipop:
A medium to full coverage cool toned fushia lip butter with fine iridescent violet shimmer. One of my favourites again for a buildable going out lip.

Cotton Candy :
A sheer to medium cool toned baby pink with fine gold shimmer. A really pretty nude for lighter skin tones. This tends to give me an erased lip look, not my kind of style but I like to wear it under/over other glosses/tinted lip balms

010 Raspberry Pie:
A medium to full coverage deep raspberry lip butter. A beautiful statement lip on a NC45 skin tone

05 Berry Smoothie:
A sheer to medium coverage berry lip butter with fine pink shimmer. A, "my lips but better" shade.

001: Pink Truffle:
A dark dusky rose with brown undertones, a perfect nude colour for darker skin tones. I think this colour tends to wash me out but I like to mix it with other colours.

080 Strawberry Shortcake:
A sheer to medium coverage pale bubblegum pink with blue undertones and fine shimmer. Again washes me out but nice to mix with other colours.

GlitterButton Rating: 4/5
(Only because I would have like a little bit more product and as they are so soft I get through them REALLY quickly!)
